Gene Goldsmith, who along with his family founded Yacht Catering Service of Essex, CT in 1977, learned the basics of catering New England clambakes in Maine, and was very successful specializing in off-premise clambakes for 20 years, serving almost 100,000 people in six different states. Most of the parties were very large and included many international corporations, college events, boat cruises, yacht/golf/tennis/swim clubs, and, of course, private celebrations. Lots of celebrities, too!
Having mastered service for large groups, the challenge for Yacht Catering Service became how to best accommodate small-scale parties (25 and fewer) at a reasonable cost. Now, after many discussions with family and some close friends about how to successfully serve these smaller clambake parties, Gene brings you Backyard Bakes. With ease and efficiency, our seafood steamers will allow you to tap into all our expertise to treat your friends to their very own clambake - as often as you like, even in the middle of nowhere!
Creating the clambake hardware was easy. We made our catering equipment smaller with a few modifications so you can now own everything you need to do your own backyard clambake. Our instruction booklet and short DVD will get you up to speed on the procedure involved in having a backyard clambake and prove to be the real value of our package.
